HISTORY

Groglass takes its technological roots from AS Sidrabe, which was a nano materials research centre. After Latvia’s independence, A/S Sidrabe continued to make innovative production equipment to meet the needs of world’s leading technology companies. In 2004, US-based private equity fund NCH, which also owns the majority shares of Sidrabe, funded the creation of a production company in Latvia, built on the basis of Sidrabe’s technology.
Groglass was established in 2004, it took several years to design the coating equipment and in 2007 the construction of production facility begun. In 2008 production was commenced and since 2009 Groglass is making invisible glass which is nowadays exported to more than 45 countries.
